Flat Children
In February we are learning about transportation. One of the books we read was Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. One night a bulletin board falls and Stanley and flattens him. His family folds him up and puts him in an envelope and sends him on an adventure. For our home project this month each child brought home an outline of person and was asked to decorate the person to look themselves. The preschoolers worked with their families to do this. They then picked a family member or friend to send their flat person (Flat (their name) to for an adventure. We will be sending them in the mail and on their way. When they come back, hopefully they will have a letter telling us about their trip, pictures, and maybe even information packets about where they traveled. On our map, that hangs in the classroom, we are keeping track of where everyone's Flat person goes. We hope they have fun.
